Mr. Real, has revealed that he had previously done RnB and reggae music before he started doing “pop” music.
Mr. Real, who became famous for his hit single “Legbegbe”, told Native in an interview that pop music came after he had done reggae and RnB.
The singer revealed that his first song, “Kakaraka” (which featured Terry G) was released twelve years ago.
However, the single did not manage to catch the attention of the mainstream audience.
“My first recording ever was with Terry G, “Kakaraka” in 2006. Akin Alabi shot the video then. The song was released 12 years ago.”
He said he had dabbled into other things but music was all he could really do.
“It has always been part of me so I decided to concentrate on doing music as a profession.”
Meanwhile, Mr Real also remarked that the street anthem, “Legbegbe” was influenced by the works of South African producer, Uhuru.
“I looped the beat and added some other sounds. It’s from an Uhuru song that I don’t even remember anymore. The beat just came in my head. That’s not even my usual type of sound.”
