At the peak of his powers as a sex symbol, D’Banj introduced the country to his now infamous pose of a fist suggestively placed between his legs as he assumes a crouched position with his head bowed down.

A young Mr. Eazi was taking notes and according to the singer, he loved D’Banj so much that he and his brother would do the pose during praise and worship in church.

He disclosed this much on the Juice –

I am still a huge D’banj fan… I feel like he can’t do wrong.. And so back in the day, myself and my kid brother, we’ll be in church and they’ll be playing praise music and we’ll be in the front.

For some reason, they always took us to the front because we’ll be making noise at the back..We’ll be doing that D’banj thing (makes hand gesture) in the front.

And when we get home my mum will  say “you people you went to church to dance that ‘Pipi Dance’

If you’re still lost, by “pipi” his mother was talking about his nether regions. Something tells me Mama Eazi wasn’t the only congregant displeased by such a provocative pose turned dance step. Anyway, Mr Eazi’s Pipi Dance itself looks nothing like D’Banj’s pose. You can watch the video for the song below and the rest of the interview above. The song was done over two years ago, I’m so thankful Mr. Eazi’s style has evolved from this type of sound – long live the evolution.
