Often, when an artist is asked – so which of your colleagues would you like to work with that you haven’t worked with already? They either go for the safe options like 2 Face Idibia, 2 Face Idibia and 2 Face Idibia or some unattainable target like Michael Jackson.

Not Ice Prince.

There was a time when the only Yvonne in Accra that Ice Prince wasn’t linked to was Yvonne Nwosu. If your name was Yvonne and Ice had to punch +233 to call you, then in 2013 most journalists would have handled the phone bill just to be able to eavesdrop on that conversation.

However, in an interview on “The Juice”, the rapper was coy about his rumored relationships with actress Yvonne Nelson and fashion designer Yvonne Nwosu but professed his admiration for Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka, that’s a woman that I’ll always always adore… Like, from when I was small.

Fast forward to 2016 and Ice Prince has seen his childhood dream come true, the rapper announced yesterday that a collaboration with the South African veteran was on the way.

Ice Prince is currently working on his third studio album J2TW (Jos to the World) and has already released the Korede Bello-asisted “Chike” as a single. His collaboration with Yvonne might be on the album, which will be the first release on his newly minted record label Super Cool Cats.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka is an internationally recognized singer and humanitarian from South Africa. Dubbed the “Princess of Africa”, Chaka Chaka has been at the forefront of South African  music for almost 30 years. years and has been popular in across African countries.
