Afrobeat maestro, Femi Kuti, has stated that winning the Grammy was not part of the main goal of his music career.
The legendary singer has already been nominated for the Grammy World Music Category four times from 2003, 2010, 2012 to 2013 respectively.
He told Legend Nigeria in an interview that his career did not start with the intention to win the Grammy.
He said if he had wanted to win the Grammy he would have won it by this time, adding that he never intended to win any award in his career.
The singer said the type of music he learned to make leaned heavily on fighting against vices threatening the existence of the society.
“The way I started to learn music was to fight for [and against] electricity, good education, injustice, corruption and to use my music to fight for the underprivileged.”
