Earlier this year, news broke that EME Records was shutting down operations as a record label. But it appears most people misunderstood the information to mean that the company is shutting down operations completely. Co-owner of the record company, Banky W, has now clarified the status of the company.

Wellington made the clarification during an interview with HIPTV recently. He said the company still functions as talent management outfit, even though its now a full-fledged media company.

Banky W stated that EME is no longer a record label as it used to be. Although, it has a talent management outfit.

“While EME now no longer functions as a record label and is now more focussed on being a full-fledged media agency: EME first and foremost has a talent management outfit.”

Banky W said the talent management outfit is managed by his partners, Toolz, Ebuka, Adesua Etomi and DJ Xclusive. W. explained that they still work along with other individuals in the industry.

“So we’re still involved in the business of talent management.”
