DJ Neptune has claimed technology has done more harm than good to the craft of deejaying.
The renowned deejay told HipTV that technology has shut down the barriers of entry to deejaying.
“It played a major role and at the same time damaged it damaged some things,” DJ Neptune said.
The disc jockey added that recently anyone can wake up and decide to start deejaying because they have access to music and the technology.
DJ Neptune said having access to softwares and music does not make one a good deejay.
“Those that understand the craft know that that’s not what deejaying is all about. When I started it was turntables and records and each record was just one song. So, with that, you can’t sync: you just have to mix; you have to do it manually.”
Neptune said having access to digital resources allow anyone to mix quickly.
But he advised that it is not the proper way to go if one were to learn the craft.
