Banky W’s now infamous Range Rover Sport 2008 model is up for auction. The car has been on auction since the beginning of June, but it was not announced publicly.

The singer made the announcement in a statement released yesterday after some girls expressed shock that the singer was still driving an old car.

A video posted over the weekend by a stalker, even more possibly a troll, found Banky W shopping with his old car and as the image of that W. did not fit with the one she had of him, she launched into a drivel.

The drivel was enough to elicit a long statement by Banky W who tried to justify his decision to continue using an “old car”.

The auction starts from ₦1,000,000 to the highest price.

“Poverty will never be my portion in Jesus name. Also, it is a 2008 Range Rover Sport not a 1999. Amen and Lol. Oh, and additionally, it’s currently for sale to the highest bidder,” Banky W said in the statement.

The singer, who had earlier into the year became an ambassador of the Pink Oak Cancer Trust, explained that funds generated from the auction would be donated to the cancer foundation and the Vocational School For The Blind in Oshodi, Lagos.

“I figured that since I didn’t need the money from the sale to buy a new one, we could just auction it off and hopefully raise a decent enough amount of money to give back to those in need.”

For auctioneers, the car would come with a full autograph by a host of Nigerian celebrities and a signed portrait of Adesua & Banky W in what the singer described as “bidding on a piece of Nigerian pop culture history.”

“Because the car will come complete with a portrait of my wife and I, and the car & portrait will be autographed by every celebrity friend that I can get to.”

Banky W stated that material items should not be a yardstick to measure individual success, but by the philanthropic exploits of the individual.

“I’m just out here minding my business, building my homes and my fortune, while also trying to build up as many people as possible. You should consider doing the same.”
