Aralola Olamuyiwa the female drummer popularly known as Ara has been appointed the cultural ambassador of the Ife kingdom. She announced her appointment on Facebook, posting a picture of the appointment letter.
The first female talking drummer in Nigeria was on Stevie Wonder’s album tiltled ” A Time to Love”. She has also performed with Wyclef Jean, Angelique Kidjo, King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti among others.
Her appointment is in recognition of her wonderful art and contribution to the Yoruba culture.
