Last year, Ajebutter22 released “Ghana Bounce”. It was an unarguable hit anywhere, anytime. This year, the song has reached one million Spotify views. Get it right, Spotify is not official in Nigeria yet and there is no hint that it would become so soon.
Butter celebrated the milestone in an appreciative post on his Instagram yesterday.
“Thank you to every single person playing the music.” He wrote in the post.
Ajebutter22 released two major hits last year: “Ghana Bounce” and “Wayward”. He also released an acclaimed album: What Happens In Lagos.
“Ghana Bounce” was produced by Studio Magic.

Meanwhile, Ajebutter22 did not receive nomination for this year’s edition of The Headies. The Lagos Big-Boy-singer is disappointed that neither his album nor some of his high-performing singles was considered for the awards.
“No Headies nomination for What Happens InLagos or Ghana Bounce.” Butter wrote on his Twitter timeline some hours after the release of the nominees’ list.
“That’s why it’s good to face your front and work for your fans.”
Ajebutter22 said he had sent his works by email to the organisers for consideration after initial difficulties with the main site.
So far, Butter’s tweet has generated reactions from his fanbase and his close associates. Long-term collaborator, BOJ urged him to move on in a tweet quoting the original Butter tweeted.
“Baba, Headies nomination no go put money for pocket; make e no cause fight.”
On-air presenter, Osikhena Dirisu, also described Butter’s album as “amazing”.
“Your album was amazing and that’s all that should matter, my G.”
