Yemi Alade’s positioning as the quintessential African woman is unmissable in her latest video “Shekere”. The video features 4-time Grammys winner, Angelique Kidjo.
“Shekere” was first released in 2019 as a single off Yemi Alade’s album, Woman of Steel.
The video opens with a frame of the threatened Maasai tribe of Kenya. The subsequent frames show the Maasai jump in a green, open field.
“Shekere” then proceed to be a showcase of exotic African cultural attires.
