Childish Gambino’s seminal record “This Is America” shook up the internet when it was released. With its searing political commentary, the record held a mirror for America to look at itself, and to see what it had become.

The song inspired many covers, and elite Nigerian rapper, and low-key activist, Falz is the latest. He’s just released the video for “This Is Nigeria”, an adaptation of Childish Gambino’s song – from the artistic video, to the rumbling beat, the catchy chorus and most importantly, the powerful message.

This Is Nigeria, look how I’m living now, look how I’m living now /

Everybody be criminal /

This Is Nigeria, look how we living now, look what we eating now /

Everybody be criminal /

The song is currently trending on Nigerian Twitter and almost every single tweet is overwhelmingly positive. But being that Falz shook a couple of tables that has Yahoo-Yahoo boys, Covenant University, government officials and our favorite pastors, that might change pretty soon.
