Davolee has been trending since yesterday. What did he do? He released a diss track targeted not only at Blaqbonez, but some industry and rap stalwarts in Nigeria.
The artist first made a mark on the scene with the release of his “Festival Bar” series. On the song, he proved to be a proficient storyteller. What follows is expectations he’s yet to fulfill.
He has been with YBNL since that time. And when YBNL’s collaborative album came out, he wasn’t given much prominence, causing many to wonder what’s wrong with him and the label.
He left the record label soon after.
Today, the artist has released “Lock Up”, one of his first songs since leaving YBNL. The song features Zlatan Ibile.
On this song, he sings about his experiences and what actually motivates him. In a really memorable way, Davolee sings assuredly that only money motivates him.
“Na money dey ginger me,” he sings.
Davolee has a reason for this. He has been through a lot and he’s certain they’d judge him less than they did.
