Davido already has 2 major album (s) to his credit. The upcoming Davido album is yet to be named.
Davido is more prepared for his United States pickup than anyone ever imagined. Since his song “Fall” started receiving attention in the US, the artist has since toured the country.
Earlier this month, he visited several US radio stations. He is taking himself to the people who want him and that thing pays.
The DMW boss is sort of new to the US audience, so he is focused on pushing his new singles “Fall” and “IF”, both released in 2017.
Davido says in a recent interview with Billboard that he does not know how he started being in demand in the US.
“I don’t even know what happened. I just woke up and I was everywhere. People always asks what happened,” Davido tells Billboard’s Nadine Graham.
Davido album: 1 for US and another for Africa
Before the year ends, OBO will release two albums. Those two albums will be targeted at his now polar audience.
“It’s crazy because [“Fall”] got picked up in Atlanta and it’s about to get picked up in another two states. In a while, it’ll be in all 50 states and we’ll probably finish up in L.A. and drop the album. I’m working on two albums right now: one for Africa and one for out here. That’ll be crazy. That might be a double album.”
The artist is serious about the release of the albums and he hopes that when he does so, he reaches number one on music charts.
“I want to drop this album by the grace of God. Hopefully, we get to hit No. 1,” the artist, birth name David Adeleke, says of his goal for 2019.
“I just want to share great ideas and great music with other artists, influence other artists, write and produce for other people. Just getting to the dream. I’ve lived the African dream, now I’m trying to get to the American dream, you know?”
