Nigeria’s Burna Boy is still reaping the rewards of his impressive 2018. The singer has emerged the winner of the BET Best International Act category for this year’s edition of the award.

Regina Hall hosted the 2019 edition of the award.

The singer emerged winner of the award ahead fellow Nigerian star, Mr Eazi, UK’s Dave, South Africa’s AKA, Giggs and others.

Burna Boy was not present to receive the award. However, his mother, Bose Ogulu who also doubles as his manager, was there to receive the award on his behalf.

While receiving the award, the singer’s mother admonished the blacks to always remember their roots.

“You were Africans before you were anything else,” Bose Ogulu said while receiving the award on behalf of her son.

Other winners at the awards ceremony include Ella Mae, Tyler Perry, Meek Mill and many more.

His latest BET prize joins the list of awards the singer has received since he dropped his Outside album last year.

Burna Boy continues that impressive streak this year with his stream of releases, matching his hits from the previous year.

Many have even touted the singer to be in a top consideration for another MVP year.

Burna Boy has already scored three hits this year with the release of “Killin’ Dem” featuring Zlatan, “Dangote” and “Anybody”.

The singer also has a collaborative EP with US production duo, DJDS, which catered for his audience in the US.
