Burna Boy is not hitting the right spots with people for a while now. His comments on Instagram in the past two weeks have seen him turn a human of scorn.

The artist wrote his opinion on streaming numbers via his Instagram Story. This came 3 days after Mayorkun posted that his debut album has racked up 70 million cumulative streams.

Burna Boy’s comment on his Story seemed to downplay streaming generally, even suggesting that most of the numbers were fake.

Asides that, it also appeared to be a sub on the DMW singer for celebrating his stream counts.

“This streaming shit be making people think they’re actually talented,” Burna Boy said in an apparent veiled shot at Mayorkun.

“If joke things like ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘Gangnam Style’ can do more numbers than everyone don’t think you’re talented or respected because of your streaming numbers. Everyone with a working brain knows what is a joke and what is real. Anyways, plenty talk no dey full basket. Let time reveal all.”

Recall that Burna Boy also ranted against artists signing international deals and with unstated reasons. A few days after news will break that Tiwa Savage has left Mavin to sign with international powerhouse Universal Music Group.

Meanwhile, Nigerians on Twitter are ripping into the singer. They are saying one year of success is getting into the singer’s head and they may not be wrong.

Twitter people have been showing workings of how a single year of success has made Burna Boy overestimate himself.

It isKi not news that artists buy views and streams for their works online. Therefore, Burna Boy’s comment is not unpopular per se. What is unpopular is that he has been at one on two different occasions and at a very short time. And by doing so, words are gaining ground that this guy is jealous.
