Show Dem Camp have been quiet for most of 2016 but there’s something about the first weeks of harmattan that make them come alive. Last year, it was the outstanding Collectiv3 album, this year its Kid Konnect’s Small Chops EP. But both of those projects were collaborative efforts, the rap duo is finally ready to serve the world new music of their own.

They teamed up with their Collectiv3 brethren Funbi for a sensual record built for cuffing season and we’ve obliged their efforts by putting it straight into our Other Room playlist. Funbi teases a surprise on the chorus, his lady doesn’t need to know what it is, she just needs to know it’s going to be memorable. It’s mid-November and I know the rainy season is over, but if you let the talented vocalist tell it, we are still experiencing baby-making weather. But a wait a minute, isn’t this the same Funbi that had us singing “Hallelujah” the other day? A man who men of the cloth would like to listen to but also a man who can sing women’s clothes off –  I like that.

In his characteristic growl, Ghost waxes poetic about his love interest, the neo-soul to his hip-hop, the Khaleesi to his Drogo, but keeps it flirty with cheeky lines –

The best things in life are free, so take this D pro bono

Tek takes the second verse, which is slightly sped up because you know he’s no slouch. Less metaphorical and more descriptive, he gets damn near blasphemous by wondering if Sango was a freak because of all the misbehavior that’s about to happen under the moonlight. It’s a delightful nighttime, shag-time record. Show Dem Camp is back in the building, ladies and gentlemen! Especially the ladies, this record is not for the gentlemen. Except you drive a German machine, then maybe you’d be able to relate and if you don’t, then what are you waiting for? If I told a woman I’d met for the first time, let’s make love in a BMW or let’s make love in Kia, no prices for guessing which one she’d nay for and which one she’d stay for.
