Following the release of the nominations list for the 2016 edition of the Hip Hop World Awards, popularly known as The Headies, rapper Yung6ix has accused the organizers of tribalism. The South South rapper is certainly unhappy that his efforts throughout the year didn’t fetch him a nomination.
He vented via Twitter where he went on about how he had some mad singles this year which should have earned him a seat at the table.
He tweeted: ”Headies and Tribalism though.”
”Respek On My Name is the Biggest Hip Hop record this year #jstknw”
”Prolly the only Nigeria hip hop record playing in Europe and American Radio #RespekOnMyName”
”Respek On My Name Competition had over 33,000 votes and over 5000 covers for a Nigerian Hip Hop song that’s a world record”
While every artiste think their song is the best thing since sliced bread, we can’t help but wonder if his claims might have any backings. Report has it that a lot of artistes share this thought but Yung6ix has just been the one to voice it out.
