On 12th May, 2016 Seyi Shay and Burna Boy were unveiled as celebrity brand ambassadors for the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
The two will be supporting the organization at the 3rd edition of its Corporate Challenge tagged “eRace Cancer”, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Muri-Okunola Park, Adeyemo Alakija Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The NSE Corporate Challenge is an annual 5-kilometre walk, run and jog competition designed to raise awareness and funds for the purchase of 37 Mobile Cancer Centers (MCCs), valued at $613,000 each.
According to Mr. Bola Adeeko, Head, Corporate Services Division of The Exchange –
The Exchange, working with CECP (Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP)), has been at the forefront of cancer awareness and advocacy for the provision of screening and treatment facilities. We are using the NSE Corporate Challenge platform to raise funds to win the race to erase cancer.
This announcement has come on the back of the duo undergoing rough times in the press of late for different reasons, Seyi for her gaffes and apparent fall out with Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy for accusations of not paying his producer Orbeat. However, this ambassadorial role with the NSE is an indication that the duo’s troubles hasn’t put a strain on their relationship with corporate bodies.
