Nigerian born Wale Folarin is currently embroiled in a lawsuit due to his collecting money for a concert upfront and not showing up for said concert.
Upfront and Personal Global, the promoters and Plaintiff in the suit claimed that Wale was hired for a performance in New York this summer and was paid $25,000 in advance.
Contracts were signed and transfer of the money made. Wale however never showed up on the date. The promoters asked for their money back and has refused to hear a peep out of the rapper’s gang.
Upfront and Personal Global is now suing for the contractual sum plus damages.
According to Wale’s representative, the rapper’s former manager was alleged to have booked the show and collected the money which was never remitted to Wale.
This doesn’t look like much of a defense but let’s see how it plays out in court.
