Veteran Nigerian musician, Jazzman Olofin is in doubts as to his status in the Nigerian music industry. Is he a legend or not? He cannot state expressly.

The artist find himself not knowing exactly what to say when asked if he considers himself a legend or not during an interview with Planetradio TV.

Olofin said he is not really bothered about those sort of labels. He just wants to make music and be happy with himself.

“I don’t know how to… maybe when people say it,” Jazzman Olofin said.

“I don’t know how to feel my worth: Maybe when people say it, okay okay, legend! When people say it I don’t imagine it as something big.”

Jazzman Olofin reiterated that he is contented with his status, as long as he is able to make music.

“I just make sure I’m contented. So, the issue of being a legend, I don’t know, I just take life easy.”

Jazzman Olofin was famous for his songs, “Eko Ile”, “Shake Something”, “Funky”, and “Omoshalewa”. His album, Mr. Funky reached critical acclaim.

He was also known as one of the pioneers of using indigenous languages and pidgin English in contemporary Nigerian hip-hop music.

Jazzman Olofin was one time signed to Storm Records, arguably the biggest record labels in the early 2000s.
