In the early days of May, Tekno released the song, “Jogodo” which sampled Danfo Drivers’ “Kpolongo”. Danfo Drivers were dissatisfied with Tekno after the song came out. Apparently, it was because Tekno sampled their work without express permission.
The duo then expressed their dissatisfaction in a video which was widely circulated across Nigerian music blogs.
Danfo Drivers had said in the interview that Tekno did not carry them along in the making of “Jogodo”.
“Why Tekno go dey do like that? If you wan do something you go call the people wey get the song tell dem say ‘see wetin we wan do here’ and we go sit down and do it.” One half of the group, Mad Melon had said in the video.
One of the conditions the group gave during their reconciliation efforts was that Tekno should work with them.
A few days later, they would settle the disagreement. Now, it appears Tekno has fulfilled that part of the bargain.
The Triple MG singer is set to release new music featuring Danfo Drivers.
A video making rounds on the internet saw Tekno and Danfo Drivers vibing together in the studio.
All the parties seem to be enjoying their own company while a song, presumably the collaboration played in the background.
This collaboration has not yet been confirmed by Tekno’s representatives. Neither has Danfo Drivers spoken publicly about it.
A release date for the song is also yet to be made public. But if the song eventually make it out of the studio, it may prove to be a masterstroke for Danfo Drivers.
“Jogodo” since its release in May has been enjoying airplay on radio and television stations across the country. It has also enjoyed ample space on music charts by credible organisations.
