The controversy surrounding the death of Tagbo Umeike is not over yet as the Lagos State Police Command has uncovered inconsistencies in Davido’s account on the deceased’s death.
The Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said in a briefing that the singer has been re-invited for questioning, many reports confirmed.
Davido had initially told the police during a pre-investigation with the Umeike’s family that he had learnt of the deceased’s death while he was away from the club (Shisha Bar) Tagbo Umeike had partied at that night.
According to Imohimi, the singer had given them an account that was different from what they found in their own investigation(s).
Police investigation(s) revealed that the deceased body was neglected inside the car.
CCTV footage showed that the deceased was brought in and abandoned by Tunde Usutu, Davido’s escort driver, and also accompanied by two others, Agbeje Olaoye and Idris Busari.
While the deceased was said to have consumed noticeable amount of alcohol, autopsy reports has confirmed that the deceased died of “asphyxia”.
Asphyxia is a set of conditions where there is an inadequate delivery and intake of the victim. Hanging, strangulation and drowning, could set of asphyxia.
