Late Nigerian music legend, Prince Nico Mbarga, has been immortalised with a statue by his children in his hometown, Ikom, Cross River state, Nigeria.
According to a Premium Times report, the statue was opened during the 20th Anniversary of Nico Mbarga’s death which held at the Jandgem Resort centre in Ikom.
The singer’s statue is sited on the border of Ikom and Cameroon as a symbolic representation of his dual nationality.
According to the son of the late singer, Nico Mbarga Jnr, the border of Ikom and Cameroon were chosen because it was where the singer did most of his business.
Mbarga jnr. also said that Nico Mbarga Sweet Mother Foundation (NMSMF) has been launched to relive the values the legend stood for.
