Eric Many has filed another lawsuit against its estranged signee, Runtown. The suit which was filed at a Federal High Court in Abuja, is to the tune of N266,694,755.
According to a New Telegraph report, the label was suing the Runtown for a “comprehensive breach of contract” after it became clear the artist had severed ties with them.
Runtown’s contract with Eric Many is expected to expire on the 22nd of June 2018, the general manager of the label, Johnson Adumike claimed.
“While our Contract is supposed to fall due for expiration on 22nd June 2018, Ericmany now has an outstanding balance of about N266,694,755.08 to recoup on our investment and expenses on Runtown’s career.”
He explained that the label was suing because, asides owing the label, Runtown has reneged on the contract agreement of recording an album with the label.
“He has not also adhered in line to deliver his album appropriately and he has deliberately tried to register the name ‘Runtown’ without the label’s consent and abscond from contract.”
Adumike also clarified that the earlier lawsuits filed against Runtown by Ericmany were over copyright violations by the artist. He said the earlier suits were not over the entire contract between the label and Runtown.
“It was only on the unapproved collabo videos and we claimed general damages of about N65 Million for the copyright infringement.”
So far, neither Runtown nor his representatives have reacted to the fresh lawsuit.
