Orezi has claimed that he does not get the kind of respect he deserves from followers of Nigerian music. The singer may be right about his assertion.

The “Shuperu” crooner told Pulse in a recent interview that he is going to “take it by force”.

Orezi said however that he is committed to being the number one artist in the country.

“I feel like its perspective,” Orezi said in the interview.

“I have some people who feel that I am the best artist in Nigeria, and I tend to feed those people and the plan for the next two years is just to get to the number one spot.”

The singer said he has been patient to wait for his own breakthrough.

“Yes, I know I should be bigger than where I am now, but God is taking his time with me, there are people who came after me and they are no longer here, my path is different from that of any artist, I no dey hustle too hard for wetin no be my own.”

Orezi, who has had several hit songs in the past few years said his success was built on the understanding of what his fans wanted.

“I just feel like I understand what my fans want and what the people want to hear, I record a lot, and then we pick what we feel the market needs at the moment. Like ‘Weke’, when I recorded it, I shot the video four days after because I felt it was different.”
