This year appears to be the year of collaboration for Nigerian artistes. Since the beginning of the year, there has been a flurry of announcements from one artiste to the other confirming collaborations: sometimes between artistes most would never expect to work together. Something is brewing in the world of Olamide and Wizkid, it appears.
Baddo wrote on his Instagram today that Wizkid came “to bless some beats for me.”

Wizkid also acknowledged the meeting between the two artistes on his Twitter.
“Baddo & Starboy locked in the studio all day.”

It is not the first time the two artistes are working together. Their first collaboration —Omo To Shan—, which happened (in 2011) at a time when they were struggling to win over some audience, was a smash single.
The two appeared on the same song again in 2015 just about a couple of years after their breakthrough. Since then, not much has been heard from the two artistes, even though they have strong mutual respect for each other’s craft.
The release of their fresh collaborative efforts would offer another dimension to how music fans interface with the two’s music. Will the two’s new effort(s) usurp the acclaim that “Omo To Shan” has? Until its release one cannot be sure.
While one cannot boldly state that Olamide and Wizkid’s collaboration is what the fans are eager to hear at this time, one can be sure that the release would confirm if both artistes have great chemistry or that their hit single “Omo To Shan” happened by chance. The two artistes definitely have a point to proof. They have to make that hit together again.
