Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records has announced a new multi-million dollar investment partnership with Kupanda Holdings.
According to reports, the deal will facilitate Mavin Records global expansion efforts.
The label will work towards scaling its operations to meet growing international demand for Afrobeat. “Our mission is to grow Mavin Global into the music powerhouse of Africa,” Don Jazzy said about the deal.
“By collaborating with artists, African creatives, local and international partners, we can become a globally recognized household name and the go-to platform for connecting African music with the world.”
The investment will help the label strengthen operations across A&R, touring, marketing, distribution, publishing and partnerships.
The investment will also enable the label develop brand partnerships for its artists.
The chief operating officer of Mavin, Tega Oghenejobo said the label is now looking forwards to grow at a global scale.
“With the resources and operational capacity Kupanda Capital brings along with its investment, Mavin is now ready to grow our artist roster and facilitate partnerships at a global scale.”
“We are looking to build an institution that will support the fantastic creative ecosystem in Africa, and move Afrobeats to the forefront of the global industry.”
The label presently have Tiwa Savage, Poe, Korede Bello, DNA Twins and a host of others on its portfolio.
Last month Don Jazzy joked that: “we no die, we just faint small.” following a near silent 2018.
