M.I. has cautioned upcoming rappers to dump their sense of entitlement if they were ever going to make their big break in the music industry.

The rapper who recently released his single, “You Rappers Need To Fix Up Your Lives”, told VJ Adams in an interview that rappers were no longer “hustling”.

He claimed that most upcoming rappers were looking for shortcuts to get to the peak of their careers.

The Chocolate City boss stated that most radio stations were willing to support people who worked hard.

He suggested that rappers in Nigeria should focus on making unique sounds that set them apart from others instead of waiting for others to help them up.

He said no awesome record label would seek out artists who were not making conscientious efforts to get their works out.

He added that the rappers who had reached critical acclaim in the country did not sound the same way.

“I just want people to figure out how they are going to get this. The four names (Olamide, Phyno, M.I. and Iceprince) I called out they are all unique and all different; have a different sound and a different brand and a way they sell themselves to the fans. They figured it out.”
