For BOJ, music is the strongest form of magic and he made frantic attempts to work that magic throughout the runtime of his debut album.
The singer’s new album, Magic, has fifteen tracks in total, including relatively known singles, “Ire” and “For Sure” (featuring Simi).
Magic has a lot of guest appearances and in fact BOJ had left hints of packed appearances on the album cover with the not-so-obvious images of the guest artists backing him.
Falz’ appearance on “Cooperate” made the album tick, and it is arguably one of the best moments on the album. However, BOJ was left clutching the straws of what he was well-known for (singing badass hooks) rather than being the shining star of his own work; thanks to Falz’ impassioned approach to the track.
BOJ appeared alone only on four tracks. The appearance of Simi, Ayo Jay, Wande Coal, YCee, Seyi Shay, Lady Jay, Banky W, Willy Paul and Olamide, while it may leave the impression that BOJ was afraid of doing it alone, still made for good outing.
BOJ’s Magic is the album of people… And it is not a bad way to ensure its survival in the market.
