Legendary rapper and polemicist Eedris Abdulkareem has described D’Banj’s breakup with Mohits partner Don Jazzy as a “stupid mistake”.
During a chat with Goldmyne TV on the state of the Nigerian music industry, the rapper made scalding comments that have since generated reactions from music enthusiasts in the country.
Abdulkareem opined that D’Banj should not have left Mohits record and Don Jazzy for any reason. He said Don Jazzy had all the technical capabilities to bring out the best from D’Banj and that the ace producer did that very well during their time together.
The controversial rapper described the former Mohits Star as “e no get talent”, adding that the singer fed off Don Jazzy’s expertise.
“D’Banj no get talent, o. Na razzmatazz e get. But Don Jazzy has the technical backup to make him sound very nice. I love him for that.” He stated categorically.
In the same interview, Abdulkareem also bemoaned the ace producer’s comment towards Mode nine and the hip-hop community some years back that parents aren’t proud of their children who become rappers. The former Kennis Music star said Don Jazzy had let the accolades he was getting “enter his head”.
He also stated that asides from the comment he had nothing but respect for the producer, while also praising his contributions to the growth of youngsters and the music industry entirely.
