Duncan Mighty has become a sort of sensation since the release of his single “Fake Love” with Wizkid. But people who know said, this Duncan Mighty, he was big before and without Wizkid.

Music producer, K-Solo is among many who reckoned with Duncan Mighty and in a latest video making rounds on the internet, he has thanked Wizkid for bringing mainstream attention to Mighty again.

K-Solo was commenting on the saturation of Shaku Shaku inspired music in the Nigerian airwaves.

He explained that prior to the release of “Fake Love” every artist who walked into his studio was often seeking a shaku vibe.

However, with the release and commercial success of “Fake Love” many musicians now want a verse from the “true king of the south” Duncan Mighty.

“Thank God for Wizkid that woke back everybody up to Duncan Mighty,” K-Solo said in a recent interview.

He said there was no time he visited Port Harcourt (Duncan Mighty’s hometown and base) that he did not record a song with the legendary singer.

“Every time I go to Port Harcourt I record a song with Duncan Mighty. Every time! You understand what I’m saying? He’s a king there. But it’s funny now that people are seeing him like just one upcoming artist that’s just in Lagos.”

Duncan Mighty first made his mainstream breakthrough in the Nigerian music industry in 2009 after the release of his smash singles “Port Harcourt Boy” and “Obianuju” off his Legacy album.

Duncan Mighty is a massive artist in the South South, even before “Port Harcourt Boy” crept up to the mainstream and has over the years become a popular name in the music industry.
