Sensational singer, Johnny Drille, has conceded that it would take a while before the Nigerian music audience embrace his type of music.
Johnny Drille told HiPtv in an interview that he did not expect that he would shoot to stardom instantly after he signed a recording contract with Don Jazzy’s Mavins Music.
The singer explained that he and his fellow labelmates were often working hard to reach a bigger audience, the label executives were not pushing them unnecessarily into the public mind.
He said growing in the Nigerian music scene was a gradual process which his label was conscious of and as such they were letting him grow at his own pace.
“The good thing about (Don) Jazzy is that he is letting us mature and grow ourselves organically instead of trying to force us into stardom.”
Johnny Drille also pointed out that joining Mavins was a life-changing decision for him and that he had found the move unexpected.
