Davido has won his second BET Award yesterday at the 2018 edition of the ceremony. The singer would also drop a new album before the end of the year.
The singer was nominated for the “Best International Act” category alongside fellow Nigerian, Tiwa Savage.
The “Assurance” star pipped several global heavyweights, including: Fally Ipupa, Casper Nyovest, J Hus, Stormzy and Stefflon Don to win the award.
Other artists nominated for the same category include: Niska and Booba both from France.
When Davido’s name was announced by the award presenters as part of the nominees, a loud cheer greeted the announcement of his name.
After he was announced winner, the singer in his acceptance speech urged US artists to visit Nigeria and also collaborate with the artists.
Davido singled out US rapper to “let’s collaborate.” The singer also announced that his new album would be released by the end of the year, 2018.
Davido had first won his first ever BET award at the 2014 edition. The his second honour for “Best International Act” joins the artist’s growing cabinet.
