Davido’s 2017 hit single, “If” has emerged number one on the New York Shazam chart for songs listeners in the city have searched for its identity.
As at yesterday, October 11, “If” was ahead of Lil Wayne’s “Uproar”, Parduson Fontaine’s “Backin’ It Up” and Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode”.
This feet makes Davido the first Nigerian artists to top the Shazam chart for the most searched for songs in the New York, United States Of America.
Davido expressed his delight in the feet via his Instagram page today, saying:
“We got the most Shazam song in New York! It’s lit!”
He added that:
“My old records just breaking. Imagine what the new ones will do!”
Shazam is a global application used to identify songs playing at particular moments.
The app provides details on the song such as artist name, the title of the song and the discography the song is part of.
