Tekno has been working some badass samples since last year. He has given Nigerian “Go” which took part of 50 Cent’s hot single, “In Da Club”. Recently, he released “Jogodo” which sampled part of Danfo Drivers’ “Kpolongo”. The song has been well-received, but the real owners of the song, Danfo Drivers, are not too happy about it.

Apparently, Tekno did not get express permission to use the song. In an interview with Wazobia Max, the duo of Mad Melon and Mountain Black stated that they were not contacted before the song was recorded and released.

“Na Tekno we want talk about. You know why? Tekno dey make us vex. You just come just dey carry person music dey sing am dey sing am,” One half of the group, Mad Melon claimed in the interview.

“Why Tekno go dey do like that? If you wan do something you go call the people wey get the song tell dem say ‘see wetin we wan do here’ and we go sit down and do it.”

Danfo Drivers said Tekno’s only saving grace was their absence from the music scene. Mad Melon said now they are ready to claim their right.

“But now we done come back. Because of Tekno na e we come here o. If I lie make I naked baff.”

Meanwhile, Ubi Franklin, the owner of Triple MG, the label Tekno is signed to has refuted Danfo Drivers claim. Franklin said they contacted Danfo Driver in an Instagram comment posted under the video on the @Akinyemilaw account.

Further details on the issue are yet to be made public.
