It is getting closer to the release of Adekunle Gold’s  sophomore album, About 30. However, the singer said he is not allowed to reveal the release date yet. From all indications, the album may be released before the end of April.

Gold told Rarolae during an interview that the release is just about a few days away.

About 30 would be Adekunle Gold’s first full-length project since the release of Gold under Olamide’s YBNL.

The project, Gold explained, would be a personal project documenting his life as he hits thirty years on Earth.

“I decided to talk about the experience; the lessons; the things that I’ve had to do in thirty years—Talk about the girls.” Gold said.

While there is no official single out from the album yet, Adekunle Gold has done several collaborations preceding the release of the album. “Happy” with Moelogo, “Agoro” with Juls and Bisa Kdei as well as his more recent “Ire” were received with critical acclaim.

However, in some quarters, “Ire” has been touted to be one of the first official singles off the album. But until the release of About 30, these are mere conjectures.

The singer was born in January, so, presumptions that the release date for the album could be his birthday falls flat.
