Tekno came back after many months away. He did so in a flurry of controversy, heart wrenching stories and with music. Nigerians are finally talking about him.

The singer stands the risk of being jailed for three years, if the authorities decide to drag him to court for one of his comeback strategies.

Slim Daddy had brought a strip club to the public space on Saturday. He loaded himself and about three bikini-clad women in a truck and they danced in it for up to 15 minutes on Friday night.

Their procession started at one end of Admiralty Way in Lekki to the Lekki/Ikoyi toll area.

Tekno has since apologised for taking that approach — which went viral after the recording of the dance surfaced on social media. The singer claimed it was for a video shoot for his single “Agege”. However, the Lagos State Signage Agency described it as an “attempt to morally deprave” the citizens.

“Agege”, the single Tekno was shooting the video for, has now been released. The song featured Zlatan Ibile in what ended up being a meeting point between the popular music scene and subtly dominant street scene.

“Agege” sees Zlatan and Tekno relishing the new kind of attraction women have for them. It’s not so hard for them to get interesting women as it used to.

From Ghana to South Africa and superstar actors, all these women with ego matching the humongous size of their buttocks, are now Tekno’s and Zlatan’s own to choose, a sign of their international women-pulling clout.

When they get these women eventually, it doesn’t scare the singers. Of course, because now they have money to blow on them.

“I like a girl with expensive taste,I get money to waste. Gone are the days wey Tonto Dikeh go dey frown her face,” Tekno brags on the song.

The lyrical dimension of “Agege” doesn’t surprise, instead it reiterates some of the notions many have for Tekno. On some days, he wants to be a lover boy with fantastical sexual intercourse ability. Other days, he is struggling to stan women without objectifying them.
