Seriki ft Qdot Ijo is the ultimate party jam.

Shaku Shaku was the main thing before Zanku bullied it into oblivion. As many would, Qdot acknowledges this fact on Seriki’s new song “Ijo (Janse)”. Seriki is coming off the heels of the release of his second studio album, Sakamanje — released in 2018.

“Ijo (Janse)” wills listeners to dance. It is not just any kind of dance, but the Zanku. “Esha ma Janse mole” — loosely translated keep stomping your feet on the ground —  as QDot croons in the most catchy way he is renowned for, creates a visual image of what is expected of a listener as soon as the song comes up.

For a Seriki-Qdot combination, “Ijo (Janse)” fulfills all expectations anyone would expect of such a number. There is an abundance of witty lines from Seriki, while Qdot supplies the faaji (enjoyment) vibe.

This song will get favourable spins at street parties, clubs and elsewhere. However, its success is likely reliant on the survival of the Zanku. Fleeting as the industry is, the wave is now waning.

Why did Seriki wait this long to put out this song? But no sweats! The mood is upbeat and upbeat always survive.

“Ijo (Janse)” is produced by Ferrari.
