Patoranking has released a new song he calls “Lenge Lenge”. He does so with a matching video released only a day after the release of the song.
“Lenge Lenge” pays tribute to the Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti and his 27 wives — The Kalakuta Queens. The video witnesses a lot of activity, which may be compelling to some.
Patoranking exemplifies Fela in the video from A-Z. From the styling to the dance routine, he does so with immense energy.
There is also the face painting done on the women, reminiscent of how the Kalakuta Queens were often presented.
“Lenge Lenge” stayed in character, music and costume wise. The video was directed by Luke Biggins and Rebekah Bird.
Several stylists from Nigeria and the US were also enlisted to accomplish the looks in the video.
The video ended with Patoranking dropping a Fela pose in front of the Afrobeat legend’s wall painting.
