Rapper, Meka Jackson lost his father on April 23, 2019. The loss shook him and he immediately wrote “Dear Dad” after. But the song was not released until a year after the incidents.
In the video for “Dear Dad”, the rapper revisits the emotions he felt after his father passed. The song is a deeply personal one as we see Meka rap about their family disputes and a host of other things.
“Dear Dad” is a personal note to his after, one he could not eventually deliver to him personally. The good thing is that Meka has imprinted his father’s memory in a form that can’t be erased.
