Larry Gaaga has pulled more A-list artists on a song since the end of 2018 than anyone else in Nigeria. Except for them DJ Neptune and DJ Spinall, who have done it over and over again, even making albums from it.
Gaaga’s latest masterstroke is the new song “Low”, which he released yesterday, April 19. The song features Wizkid.
Before now, Larry Gaaga featured Burna Boy, 2baba, Davido and D’Banj in “Babanla Nonsense”, “Iworiwo”, and “Doe”.
“Low” is produced by Blaqjerzee. The video is also directed by Moe Musa, who already has so many high profile videos in his portfolio.
Larry Gaaga basically does nothing in the video of the song. Except on few occasions where he dines and swayed to the catchy beat of “Low”. To mark his presence on the video, he has a signature stamp announced not less than two times at several intervals in the song.
The “Larry… Gaaga!” stamp comes up like an aggressive reminder to listeners, just in case they forgot who the true owner of the song was.
Wizkid serenades his love interests with below the line verses, which easily sticks. His vocals come correct, like in most of the songs he has been on since 2018.
This Larry Gaaga ft Wizkid jam has earned Gaaga a recognisable tag: the Nigerian DJ Khaled. Although, there are others who have done it well before him and are still doing it.
“Low” shows Larry Gaaga’s ability to push weight in the industry isn’t one to overlook. There may be more of this coming in the future, and if possible, an album will come out of the fat man’s tinkering.
