How many times will writers start their essay with how Burna Boy is the star of 2019 and all that? No matter how much it’s been done already, they will continue to do so.

The artist has released the video of his song, “Pull Up” and it is directed by Meji Alabi.

“Pull Up” is a song about Burna Boy’s unwillingness to switch up his relationship with his love interest to the level this unnamed interest wants.

Burna Boy does not dismiss that there is indeed something in their relationship. In fact, he insists that the love interest is always in his brain “24/7”. But that’s not enough to get a Burna like him to commit to something serious.

The artist made it clear from the start that he’s not about the life his girl expected. Even though it sounds like picking a side, the side is still unclear as it appears Burna Boy still needs to retain the affair.

So, when the Afrofusion artist hears that his love interest isn’t herself at all. He tells her to get a grip and face what’s actually more important: showing up, because he’s waiting outside.

“24/7 girl you dey for my brain and I know you want me to go down on my knees. Heard you can’t eat, I heard you no fit sleep and I want you to know girl that it’s not that deep,” Burna Boy sings on the opening lines of the song.

In the video, we see the African Giant in a yellow top and down and matched with a faded blue sneakers. The models also dressed in retro styles as they take a ride in a bespoke car made for the video.
