By now, Nigerian music fans are accustomed to Blackmagic ‘s ghosting—not atypical of black magicians, you know. The good about the Based on Believe act is his ability to show up and sweep everyone off their feet.
Curious note. What’s the ratio of fans Blackmagic loss everytime he ghosted to ones gained when when he shows up again?
Also known as Ejay, his new song, “Ponmo” 2019 comeback of some sort levels up to the kind of things you’d expect from the big-voiced magician.
He rides casually over the Spax-produced song, giving of the energy of one so sure of his abilities. When Blackmagic sings, he holds it down: when he raps, he does same, as heard on this song “Ponmo”.
Ejay feeds his hubris on “Ponmo”, a thing he calls “speaking my mind”. Maybe you would’ve gotten something else had master producer, IKON not warned Ejay not to yarn bull. But this one you get will leave you asking why does ever not pick our calls?
