9ice released his 8th studio album ID Cabasa on November 20th, 2016. It pays homage to the singer’s friend and producer ID Cabasa; 9ice announced that all proceeds from the project will go to ID.
9ice is arguably best known for his 2008 hit song “Gongo Aso” off his sophomore album of the same title. He has been decorated with awards, local and international including Nigerian Entertainment Awards Most Indigenous Act 2007, MOBO Best African Act 2008 among others.
The album follows seven previous efforts – Certificate (2007), Gongo Aso (2008), Tradition (2009), Versus (2011), Bashorun Gaa (2011), Deluxe Version Versus & Bashorun Gaa (2011), and CNN/GRA (2014).
ID Cabasa is a 20 tracker and while it pays respect to him, not every song on the album was produced by ID Cabasa – Puffy Tee and DJ Coublon are just some of the other producers on the project.
