While some set of people have seen the “Bibanke” singer perform at private shows, the singer was inactive on the public front. The long years of silence have now changed with the release of her new single.
Aṣa’s new song is called “The Beginning”. It is the first time she’d put out something in about 6 years.
She first tweeted about the song on her Twitter. And from her subsequent tweets, many are saying this singer might drop an album by the end of May.
“Here is to you, “The Beginning” for me a reset a rebirth. I hope you would love it as much as I do. Thank you all for your love and patience,” she wrote in one tweet.
“The Beginning” is a call to return to calmer times. That is, for relationships and marriages that have hit rock bottom, where the partners no longer care for each other. Aṣa is calling on the partners to mend things.
For many stans, “The Beginning” may hold so much in meaning. They would twist the meaning this way and that, in search of depth. Whether they find the depth they are looking for or not, that will now be their own personal problem.
But this song is typical Aṣa, everyone says it is so good. When they say it is a good song, listen to them. Because, tbh this super Nigerian singer gives nothing, if it is not the best.
It is why her work is sparing: you don’t come across it every now and then.
