Mavins Records singer, Tiwa Savage, has expressed delight after she was listed in the BBC’s Inspirational and Innovative Women of 2017 unveiled yesterday.

The singer, who recently released her Sugarcane EP, was one of the two Nigerians who made the list.

“It’s true when they say your brightest moments usually comes after your darkest times. Keep your head up and work hard through it. The same people laughing at you will celebrate you.” She said.

She encouraged women to continue to work hard and take charge of their situation and not let anything hold them back.

“Don’t let being a woman hinder you, I have and still have to fight to get people to respect and appreciate my work and not limit me because I am female so this really encourages me to keep pushing and breaking boundaries.”
